Unlike optical satellites that depend on sunlight, SAR actively transmits signals and records their reflections, allowing observations day and night and even through clouds. This capability makes SAR one of the most valuable tools for Earth monitoring, disaster management, environmental studies, and mapping applications.<br>SAR imagery provides information not only about the appearance of the surface but also about its physical characteristics, such as roughness, moisture, and structural changes. Because microwave signals can penetrate clouds and operate independently of weather conditions, SAR satellites deliver consistent data in regions where optical imagery is often limited.<br>Today, SAR is widely used for flood mapping, forest monitoring, land deformation analysis, agricultural observation, coastal studies, and infrastructure assessment.
